I've editted the header index page by adding the paypal donation button.

It seems to not appear when you're logged in, but if you're a guest viewing the forum the error warnings show twice.

What is with the errors, and how do I rectify?

Reupload a new copy of ./index.php from a fresh download.

I actually ended up doing this before you posted. It ironed out the problems.
