I have a freeware site. I would like to know if I can feature mybb themes and mods on there. I of course would not change the files in anyway and give credit in the posts to the developers.
Is this permitted? I though it was only because Mybb is a free source.

It would depend entirely on the plugin/theme. When you download a mod or theme from the mod db you will be presented with a license screen. Read this carefully to answer your question. Some mods you will, some you won't. It depends on the author. If you are unsure about a specific mod or theme, ask the author via pm here on the support forums
