So every day we have people reporting that logins don't work on their forum. Let's fix this once and for all!
99% of the time this is a problem with your cookie settings being incorrect or inadequate. (For more information about MyBB's cookies, read [Wiki: Cookies] (Broken link, head over to docs.mybb.com instead))
The solution
Your cookie settings can be found in: Admin CP --> Board Settings --> Change --> General Configuration. The two settings are Cookie Domain, and Cookie Path.
By default, MyBB suggests Cookie Domain to be blank, and Cookie Path to be "/". Although this theoretically will work, in many cases it is inadequate.
First a few examples of what your cookie settings should look like:
If your URL is http://www.example.com, your settings should be:
Extra Notes:
If you are still having problems, please reply here with the URL of your forum.

If your URL is http://www.example.com, your settings should be:
- Cookie Domain: .example.com
- Cookie Path: /
- Cookie Domain: .example.com
- Cookie Path: /myforum/
- Cookie Domain: .subdomain.example.com OR .example.com
- Cookie Path: /wow/
Extra Notes:
- These cookie settings should work on all MyBB installations. If you have site-integration, your cookie settings may need to be more generalized.
- If you are using a URL cloak or frames, you need to find your cookie settings for your "real" URL, not the cloaked one.
- After you change your cookie settings, please advise your users to logout and clear their cookies from their browser, so that the new cookies can take effect.
- If you cannot login to the front end of the forum, you can still login directly to the Admin CP. Just add /admin/ to the end of your forum's URL (or your admin directory if it's different), and you should see the login for your Admin CP. The reason why this is possible is because the Admin CP login does not use the cookie settings for the login.
