I was talking to WDZ a while back about converting a from I run from IPB to MyBB while keeping the same members (wasn't that bothered about the posts). He said that would be extremly hard without a converter and to his knowledge no-one had made one yet. I was wondering what this converter would entail.
I started work on an InvisionBoard converter a while ago for someone, but then it was no longer needed and I gave it up, as I've never used IPB.
If you don't mind waiting a while I might get chance to work on mine over the next week or so.
Alternatively, I think there may be an official one soon, but I don't think official converters are planned for a while yet.
i converted a forum from ipb a while ago .. i can do it for you if you wish.
posts will be lost as the ipb post system is too different to convert :s sorry

I thought I'd updated this thread a while ago but obviously not.
Work on my IPB converter was completely dropped a few months ago. I didn't have time to work on it, but I believe someone else has started one instead.
As far as any updates go on this new converter, I'm unable to provide any.

Oh, That is bad... Really bad... Where do you think I can find someone to do the converter?

I don't have any contact with the person working on the new converter. All I can suggest is that you wait about a while for it's release, but there's no telling how long that could be.
