I have to disagree with you there. Not only are vB's default colors hideous, but the layout is cluttered and disorganized. It's a mess, and it's a pain to theme.

the default vB theme is hilariously ugly. the layout isn't bad but i honestly prefer myBB and Afresh in particular

vB has alot better themes but there not hard to make so overall vB is crap me thinks.

The default theme is now packed with features, and often they are not well thought out places. They're trying to cater to absolutely everyone's needs and forget about the average person who only really wants a forum.

Maybe their new version, 4.0, will have a new theme and things will be better thought out.
As far as I can tell, with 3.0, they started off well and then it just got filled with all the features they thought of throwing in.

Just my thoughts.

Their new major version is going to have a complete theme overhaul from what I heard.

I think their coding is sloppy, and the default layout is..well...default'ish. MyBB ftw! I don't mind these requests, but they keep coming up and most of the are way too bloat'ish to even be worth adding..

I agree with the code comment, it used to be fairly clean but ever since they added the Data Managers it's gotten fairly messy.

And no one is supposed to like a default theme to anything, you're supposed to create your own unique theme. Toungue
