Using Group Promotions for Banning Spammers

UPDATE:

Now everyone in the staging forum is banned!
I just noticed but the log shows everyone being moved from Registered to Banned on 9th Sep at 10:52, e.g.:

bjoern.brormann Primary Registered Banned 2010-09-09, 10:52

Obviously all these users do NOT exhibit less than 100 posts and a reputation less than or equal to -5...

So I'm back to the original problem - promotion to banned group based on a negative reputation just does not work!

Just checked and this seems fixed in 1.6.x - http://dev.mybb.com/issues/1239 - is that right?

This should have been fixed in the 1.6.1 update, yes
