Actually, I'm not so sure; the MyBB logo remains our copyright I believe - but a PNG version comes with 1.8.

No, you're not allowed to use it without permission. We've already contacted several sites using it without permission.

It's more about protecting the brand identity I believe. It would be best for you to contact the management before using the image in any case.
