Problem with attachments after smf 1.9 import

Hi, I'm trying to get my attachment images to display after importing to MyBB. They show up at the bottom of the posts as links but there's no thumbnail. When trying to recount and rebuild via the admin I get this message over and over:

So is it just a matter of not having all those 'attach' files? What would I have to do, rename all 6,000+ images or....?

I gather that the import tool doesn't automatically import attachments yet, unless I'm missing something obvious, because I've made copies of the smf attachments directory in a few places, including of course the Mybb 'uploads' folder, just to cover all bets, and ran the importer a few times without successfully importing a single attachment.

Anything I'm missing? I'd appreciate any help. If I can't find a way to get all the attachments working, I think I'll just stick with smf, as it'd be a LOT of time replacing all those images....

Hi,

I am trying to convert a forum from phpBB3 to MyBB 1.4.6 and I tried removing the user (2nd convert attempt) from the install before I converted... The problem is that user 1 will either not get added (if removed from mybb install before convertion) or just all of user 1 posts will be "guest".

Also how am I meant to put the URL for the attachment part as none of the attachments will get converted over.

I'm using smf 1.1.9. Now, I want to convert it to mybb. My forum is Vietnameses. I encounter a problem with unicode, after converting, my forum's font is error. Both smf and mybb are using tables with utf-8 encoding

hi all
i have a forum set up and running phpbb3, and have just run the merge program to transfer it to mybb, however i get the following error when running the posts run, it gets right to the end and gets to the rebuilding counters bit and then gives the following error

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
2013 - Lost connection to MySQL server during query
Query:
SELECT COUNT(aid) AS attachment_count FROM mybb_attachments a LEFT JOIN mybb_posts p ON (a.pid=p.pid) WHERE p.tid='3945'

there are 83,000 posts and i have installed mybb on my laptopn then ran the merge program and successfully merged fine on my laptop first ( i did this as a test run, as i had my backup of my forum on my laptop as well, as i do all my mods on there to test them out ) so figure it must be a problem with the hosting providers etc? ( i am with 1and1) is there a way to just run a backup from the successful convertion that i did on my laptop?and then dump it in etc? or restore from the admin panel?

Hello,

I'm planning on merging a large XMB forums for a friend to MyBB. First, does the merge system modify the XMB database in any way? Basically, I'd like to try the process and want to make sure it won't mess up the XMB forums in anyway if I fail.

Secondly, does the merge work at all with XMB 1.8? I'm not sure what version my friend is running. Also, his board is quite heavily modded. Will these plugins affect the merge? I assume the plugins won't carry over right?

This next question is a general MyBB question. How server intensive is MyBB? Is it much better than XMB? The reason I ask is because I'm trying to find something effecient since my friend's board has 8000 visitors per day and it's taking a toll on the server so I'm trying to find a way to reduce it (by switching to MyBB). I hope I am right in assuming this will significantly help.

I appreciate any help and thank you in advanced.

I have the same problem :

I would like to make my phpBB3 board becoming a myBB board. I've made a SVN snapshot conversion and it works.

But there is a (big) problem with accents. Sentences are cut on every accent.

For exemple :

Hello!

While trying to convert from IPB 2.3.6 to MyBB, I've got the following problem: php-cgi process segfaults after the Merge System finishes importing forums.
Segfault happens right before it had to return to module selection page, imported forums do not show up in MyBB installation(users/usergroups do).

I tested this on following platforms:

Apache 2.2.11 or lighttpd 1.4.22, mysql 5.1.34, PHP 5.2.9 with Suhosin-Patch 0.9.7 (my working machine);
Apache 2.2 branch, mysql 5.0.67, PHP 5.2.6 (hosting);

With both beta 3 and 4 of the merge system.

Lighttpd messages:

Accent problems with PunBB

Hi,

Is there any planned update to the merge system to fix the management of characters with accents (like in French)?

I would like to migrate from PunBB 1.2 and it's the last thing stopping me from doing it...

I am attempting to convert from Vbulletin 3.8.2 to MyBB 1.4.6 using the merge system version 1.4 Beta 3 and I have also tried 1.4 Beta 4. I get the same results each time I run through the system on either version.

I am able to get my users and all passwords and profile information. My forums, threads, posts, and polls do not transfer. I have noticed some users here saying they are able to get theirs to transfer but show up blank, mine does not show up at all, is there anything I can do to get this fixed or will be it be supported in a future version of the merge system?

Hello..

At first glance, everything went fine.. but when I opened up some posts..the bbcodes are messed up and the attachments wont work.. anyone know how to solve this?

This isn't really a big deal but I was wondering if anybody could help me. After converting from vb using the svn snapshot everybody's private message count is screwed up. For example, I have 8 private messages but it says "(Unread 0, Total 34)". Is there a way to reset or recount them? I didn't see anything under 'recount and rebuild'.
