I’m excited to share three new projects I’ve started this year, all powered by MyBB. While these forums are currently in their final development and optimization stages, I am planning their official launches within the next few weeks. I wanted to showcase them now to demonstrate how MyBB remains my go-to choice for building niche communities with a modern touch in 2026.

1. MyBB Türkiye

Site Description: A dedicated local support and resource hub for Turkish MyBB users.
Site Vision: I am eagerly waiting for the release of MyBB 1.9. Until then, I will continue to maintain the community with the current infrastructure. Once 1.9 is out, my vision is to transform this site into a comprehensive documentation and support model, similar to the mybb.de project. I also believe the .tr domain extension is a perfect fit for a project focused on providing official-level support for the Turkish community.


2. Seven Kingdoms Türkiye

Site Description: A comprehensive community for Game of Thrones and ASOIAF fans in Turkey.
Site Vision: The site is currently in the active development and optimization phase. My goal is to leverage the power of MyBB to build a robust platform for the Turkish ASOIAF community, especially with new spin-off series and movies on the horizon. A key feature I’m working on is a custom search integration within the ASOIAF book lore, allowing users to search through specific texts directly via MyBB's database structure. It’s a great example of how MyBB can be more than just a forum when used as a specialized fan hub.

Site Description: A modern comedy and joke-sharing community.
Site Vision: This project is very personal to me as it is named after my surname, "Geldegül." In Turkish, this is a wordplay that literally means "Come and laugh" (Gel-de-gül). My friends always joked about my name, so I decided to turn it into a brand!


I chose MyBB for this project because its technical infrastructure perfectly handles my massive personal archive of text-based jokes. I am using the CurvesUI theme specifically for its content-focused design, which prioritizes readability. By leveraging MyBB’s powerful plugin system, I am building a highly interactive humor portal where the community can engage with the content effortlessly.

Despite many alternative platforms out there, MyBB remains the system that best meets my specific needs for these three diverse projects. My main motivation is the upcoming MyBB 1.9 release—I am incredibly excited about the new era it will bring. Until then, I am more than happy to continue building on the current stable infrastructure.

CriptoVerso - A Crypto & Metaverse Forum

Introduction
Welcome to my project related to Cryptocurrencies and the Metaverse, welcome to CriptoVerso. I have been related to the world of cryptocurrencies for several years and almost a year ago, I began to be interested in the subject of the MetaVerse. I saw in it a new opportunity, both to grow technologically in the world of video games and virtual reality, as well as an investment opportunity. After several months seeing how this idea of the metaverse was taking better and better shape, with new companies investing their resources and part of their capital in it, I decided to create the project that I am talking about today.

Objective
The main idea and the main objective is to be the largest Spanish-speaking website in relation to the Metaverse. The metaverse is something that is growing and aspires to be the next revolution. I want to create a community where opinions, ideas or investment strategies related to the metaverse, as well as other general topics, are shared.

Language
We use Spanish as the official language. We want to create the biggest community about cryptos related with metaverse of Spanish speakers. We have an interested project and we are working to continue improve it.

CriptoVerso - Web
The project is build using the last version of MYBB. We thought it was the best platform to start a forum. Easy to use and customize and with a great community behind it.
After some time of work, we have managed to create a beautiful and functional forum with MYBB and we are very happy about it, that is why we have decided to create this topic in this forum.
Also, we try to use less plugins that we can. There are more ways to backdoors, so we try to only use necessary plugins, as:
  • Google Seo by Andreas Klauer
  • Style Usernames by Lukasz "LukasAMD" Tkacz
  • DVZ Mentions by Tomasz 'Devilshakerz' Mlynski

Unique Features
We have a team working on the forum code and the design. As we said, we try to not use plugins, so we not have a lot of more feature than vanilla mybb can have. This is good because we not want to have backdoors or vulnerabilities. The security of our users is important for us.
But yeah, we have pretty community with some functionalities that i am sure you not have seen in other forum Smile

With over 2,5 million posts and 60.000 threads MINI².info is the biggest bulettin board in Germany when it comes to the 'new' MINI produced by BMW.

This month we have finally migrated the board from vBulletin 3 to MyBB - after more than half a year of preparations.
We have used the MyBB Merge System in conjunction with quite a lot of custom SQL statements + own code to migrate all the data.
To keep supporting a TABLE BB-Code and not break the design of posts, we also implemented a custom Plugin: https://github.com/A-Dalton/Simple-MyBB-TableCode (needs some cleanup before providing it via the 'Extend' section)


If anyone else considers migrating an old vBulletin 3 forum to MyBB and needs some further information - feel free to let me know Smile

Shannon, the owner, makes a living by creating and selling subliminal audio on our shop website. We have the most advanced subliminal audio available on the market today and have years of forum testimonials from hundreds of users to back it up. The forum serves as a place for members to keep a journal about their subliminal usage and also to ask questions about usage. Our users love it! The general feedback is that users find it helpful to keep a journal to track their progress while listening to our subliminal audio. The forum makes it easy for members to ask questions and it also makes it easy for staff members to chime in and answer questions. We find that the forum is great for advertising and does a wonderful job of displaying real user reviews to potential customers. We feature user's forum posts on our shop website as reviews. 

Another benefit of the forum is that it allows rapid and direct customer service and feedback from all of our staff members. We still offer email communication but the extends our communication and our users like the opportunity to get to know the staff members and the ability to crowd source feedback and advice from different perspectives. Journal thread titles include the name of the subliminal they are listening to which makes it easy for users to relate to each other's progress. We feel that users have a much more personal connection with the product as well as the creators versus using a traditional online store that only has email communication.

Our forum was switched to MyBB in 2008 because it seemed much more reliable and customizable than the forum software we had used until then. Before that, it ran on vbulletin from 1997 to 2001 (data was lost, don't ask!) and on phpBB from its relaunch in 2004 till we migrated it to MyBB. Since 1997, it has survived two successful hacking attempts (not on MyBB), two changes of the main domain, three changes of providers/hosts, and migrated to and from four different virtual servers. 

It is mainly used by German-speaking students of linguistics and various philologies to get help with problems, assignments, or finding thesis topics; for this, we have a special user group of experts – mostly senior students, undergrads, postgrads  and the occasional tenured faculty –  who use the MySupport system to answer user questions. We also do have a small community of long time users and team members who simply stick with us for some casual language-related discussion. A second branch is our tumblr-based blog https://blog.linguisten.de which basically attracted a followership and community of its own.

One thing i am particularly proud of is the clickable editor for phonetic and other special characters, a thing that turned out extremely useful in a linguistics forum:
