say i am posting some thing and i insert a code tag then i click that code tab butten agan to close it it still has that [CLOSE TAGS]. even if all the tags are closed because i click the code tag button and not that [CLOSE TAGS]

[F] [Solved] Installation Script : DB Host value

There seems to be a problem in the install script, when I enter another value than 'localhost' in the DB Host field. Every time, I put an DNS value in the field, the script tells me, that the host cannot be reached.

I've written a short php script to prove, that the DB Hosts (I've tested 3 seperate hosts) are reachable - everyone can be reached from another host (so they are NOT bound to the 'localhost' interface only).

Here are some further Informations :

- The MySQL Hosts are reachable from outside - they are not bound to the 'localhost' interface only.
- I've tested 3 different MySQL hosts : 2 of my webspace providers and one I use for local evaluation and development in my LAN. Same result ...
- I've placed my test script (see below) on the same machine (webspace) as the installation script - the 2 DB servers of my web providers can
be reached from there (the one MySQL server in my LAN is not reachable from the internet).

I was also able to install several other BB Systems on the same Webspace / Database combination without any problems.

FYI : Here is the script, I've tested the connectivity with :

If you are a guest in a forum and use the quick reply, then press [Post reply] It will return an error saying:
* The image verification code that you entered was incorrect. Please enter the code exactly how it appears in the image.

When their is no image verification on the quick reply.
Just something I thought I'll pull up.

[F] Merged Admin loses access

Merged Admin loses access to most Admin Functions.

I merged Admin to lopalong. All permissions were set for lopalong prior to the merge.

Now Lopalong can't access most functions such as Database options, Download panel access etc...

I've removed all forms, cache, cookies and viewed Admingroup in the database.. That appears to be the same as the older db backup.

At the moment, I don't have a full Admin..

?? I need this fixed rather quickly if possible.

I've found and exterminated a small bug.

Someone noticed before that if you enter

\"

into any setting, it will create a syntax error in inc/settings.php. This person fixed the bug by adding a line of code. However, the same syntax error is produced if you enter

\\"

as well. In fact, this syntax error can be reproduced by entering any number of those \, and then a ". So, I decided that to resolve this once and for all, regular expressions would be worth using.

The MyBB guys may use this code anywhere they like.

EDIT: I updated the fix to use preg_replace() as opposed to ereg_replace().

If anyone has any trouble with this fix, post it here.

Okey, so you say you have 1 post count. Then you un-approve the post, then you move it into a forum that doesn't count posts. It will result in a -1 post count

You cannot translate the yes/no buttons on the page where you have to confirm that you want to delete a template set.

If you edit a member in the Admin-CP the DST option gets disabled for this user. The Problem is that $mybb->input['enabledst'] has no content in admin/users.php in line 488.

[F] Quote/Apostrophe in usernames

A small thing - one of my users had an apostrophe (') in their username. I had trouble dealing with the Merge Users function with this user. Renaming the user without the (') worked however.

If you select more that one forum on the search page you get results for only one forum.

Example: Search for the word test in the forums "General support" and "Testing and Trashing". All threads in the result list are in the trash forum. If you search in "General support" only there are several results.

[F] Hidden Admin CP links

I'm not sure this can be consider a bug, it may be for some like me.

Anyways in config.php you have the option of hiding every link that directs to the Admin CP which is very useful and it gives more security to the Forum. But when you click on "IP logged" below somebody's post on a thread, there is an Admin Option to find users who have registered with that IP which reveals the Admin CP directory.
