from admin point of view, when I RSS subscribe to a new threads at /misc.php?action=syndication in aim to spot offtopic threads and SPAM, it would be handy in the feed to see in which forum the thread has been posted, that would allow me to see (in the RSS reader) if this thread is offtopic, without need to open the website.

Please do you suggest any patch to a /syndication.php (or can it be improved for everyone) or this would require yet another plugin? If it would be about plugin, I am willing to contribute some $ or ETH.

It's impossible to block all these IP addresses in the server firewall (or the forum firewall). Many of them appear to be coming from SIM farms (smartphone SIM cards networked together to create hundreds or thousands of fake users).

But many of them also appear to be coming from major cloud platforms like Cloudflare, Microsoft, Oracle, et. al. We can't simply block those platforms because last year Apple launched a private relay network (proxy service) that allows its users to surf the Web anonymously. They use a 2-layer network where they send the proxy traffic through the cloud platforms (and maybe other services). So when we blocked those platforms we blocked legitimate users.

We're hoping someone is developing a plugin that creates an MCP server. There's no knowing how many of these hundreds of thousands of visitors are actually browser agents (or whatever) that would use the MCP instead of scraping the forum, but any relief would be better than none.]]>

I am looking to get a plugin that would allow one email/password user to own/create multiple usernames&profiles (and switch between them)

but there are two functions that i had im my old phpbb board, that seem to have no equvivalent plugin on myBB

so maybe i am blind, and the plugins already exist...but if not, i guess i must make my own or pay someone to make one

first of all

i host a board for roleplay writing

and i have a reward system for the amount of words written

i can decide in WHICH forums WHICH groups can earn these rewards 
the amount of awards can be adjusted in the plugin too

so for example

user in group5 (with premission to post in forum3)
writes a rpg post

it contains 1000 words

than following happens

in the postbit next to posting time standing: [total words: 1000] (this is a database value)

than two following things happen

first: the database or the forum checks: how many words? how many points/reward for them, and is there any post in any forum/topic that has more words?


after this

the user gets a amount of points depending on how many words he written (for example, i grant 0,01 point for EACH word) the 0.01 is adjustable...in acp

than the database does following

adding the total words to the post-id table
adding the total amount of earned reward points in the post-id 
adding this amount of earned reward points to the user total amount 

(when editing, changing author or deleting, the reward points are re calculated)


after this

these values are shown around the forum (most of them on index)

first: longest ever written post (total amount of words in one post) +author - shown on the index statistic page

second: top 10 users with most reward points on index statistics + (link to a overall list with ALL users ranked in reward points from highes to lowest)

third: total amount of WORDS written in all counted forums/topics
forth: total amount of reward points of ALL users that have reward points

the amount of each user personal total reward points is shown in memberlist, profile, postbin next to total posts, and on index next to the name 



i only found some point systems that reward for new topics, or new posts...or charakters? but not for words
i guess a reward system based on charakters could work here too but i dont want to reward users for POSTS, TOPICS or stuff like that. Only for CONTENT

and i found some plugins for counting words or characters, but it seems these values are not saved into database...so its useless for me?


if there are ANY plugins that do the job i want, could you give me a link to the developer? 

if there is no plugin like that i must do my own

That got me thinking — there’s a huge opportunity here for gaming communities who use MyBB. Imagine being able to connect Xbox Live directly into your forum. So, I brainstormed some potential plugin ideas that could actually make MyBB stand out for Xbox gamers.
