I downgrade one MyBB 1.6 test forum to MyBB 1.4.13 using following way:
1. Convert MyBB 1.6 Beta 2 to SMF 1.1.11
2. Convert SMF 1.1.11 to MyBB 1.4.13

This works, but when I look at my profile, I see that my total posts value is exactly null.

I have two mybb on different URLs and now want merge them together.
my first site (ex: www.site1.com/forum) with 114,953 posts and about 5000 users the second one (ex: www.site2.com/forum) with 225,657 posts and about 6500 users working fine now.
I want move all of the posts and users to the first site. Any solution to do that as soon as possible?
Please don't forget we have a large database and we cannot test. we need the best solution to do this at once.

Hey,

Wow, its been a long time since i used this account ^^.

Anyway, i am a webmaster on a phpbb forum that has 300-500 users on simutainously most of the time with peaks of 700-1100.

We are moving over to mybb (mybb fan for 4-5 years now), and we have transferred over all the users but it won't let them login with their old password, they have to use password rest... Is this normal? I thought it was have the phpbb salter and then match the password to the phpbb algorithm and then convert it to the mybb one.

Btw the plugin is enabled.

Hi newbie here to MyBB looking for a bit of help or advice when converting from IP.Board 3.1.0 to MYBB..

when going through the procedure its only giving me the option of picking IP.Board 3.2 & not the latest v of 3.1.0.. anyhow ive given it a go & it goes right up until exporting members & then i get this error.

On the threads portion of the merge from PunBB 1.2.22 I get this error

This is a brand new install of MyBB that I installed and then after setting that up, I'm doing the merge. I cant quite figure this one out, because I cant figure out how its getting that -6 in there, the punbb database doesnt have a firstpost in the punbb_topics table

I'm looking over the code and have figured the query to be

SELECT *
FROM `punbb_posts`
WHERE topic_id=2
ORDER BY posted ASC
LIMIT 1

In convert\boards\punbb\threads.php the following code calculates the firstpost field

$insert_data['firstpost'] = ((-1) * $this->get_first_post($data['id']));

Thing is I dont know why they want it to be negative, does mybb use negative numbers for the firstpost?

I just looked at the mybb_threads table and firstpost is setup as

int(10)  	 	UNSIGNED  	No(null)  	0(default)

so why is it multiplying by -1?

Mercuryboard to mybb question

I've got a site running on mercuryboard 1.1.14 and would like to import the data to mybb.
I looked at mybb_merge but it doesn't seem to have that option.

It looks like I could convert mb to smf and then smf to mybb, but I don't really want
to go to all that trouble (and possible corruption) if there's a more straightforward way.

problem with PMs after ipb to mybb convert

I am doing a test convert from ipb 2.3.6 to mybb, and everything appeared to be going well. Zero errors during the merge/convert process.

forums,categories, topics, and posts seem to be fine.

However when i went to check the Private massaged, it looked like there were alot of duplicates, and whenever i click on a pm to read it i receive this error:

Hi,

Complete newbie and trying to merge from a phpbb3 forum to mybb however having some issues which I can't resolve.

When trying to import users I get the following error:

1265 - Data truncated for column 'usergroup' at row 1

I have changed the user group for this user from Global mod and tried again I then get the following error:

1406 - Data too long for column 'salt' at row 1

Could someone please help me.

how to use Merge system for test environment creation

I maintain relatively big site with >700,000 posts and >10,000 users on MyBB.
in peak times there is up to 300 users online.

now I want to upgrage MyBB to newest version (from 1.4.11 to 1.4.13), but I don't want to do it directly on production site without testing before. some plugins and translations are installed, own theme developed, some templates modified, own translation used, etc.
So, I want to duplicate production site to testing site, then test SW upgrade, and only after successful testing apply changes to production.

off course I know how to duplicate site manually, but this is not an easy task.

is there any way to use Merge System to do that semi-automatically ?

is there a way to restart the conversion process without reinstalling mybb
i converted to a test board from smf i am now ready to make it live, but i have a few new members/posts/threads any way i can re convert theese from the old database without loosing everything else i set up.
