something where people can review products would be nice.

maybe allow a few photos, have the option to have multiple categories, a rating system and etc.

few features, maybe;

1: once a user selects a specific category (cars), it'll have a preset list of questions that can be answered. since a site might use a review system for multiple types of reviews, this is why I mentioned having a preset list of questions to be answered per category.

2: a rating option next to each answer. for example, if we used cars as a category and wrote a review on say a new Honda Civic, these could be some of the preset questions:

price (rating stars)
motor size (rating stars)
fuel efficiency (rating stars)

and then after each rating is selected, it'll automatically calculate a total rating.

If I gave a 3 star rating to each question (price, motor size, fuel efficiency), with the possibility of 5 stars total, it would have a total rating of 3 (if my math isn't a total FAIL).

3: photos would be good so people can see what is being reviewed

4: comments and the ability to write your own review on the same product, give your own ratings, and then have the total rating of the entire thread be updated.

this xthreads mod here is a good start, but I think a specific plugin might be better suited.

Can't you use the garage system plugin by pavemen? That might help you upto major extent other than ratings (I am not sure if he kept ratings in this), but anyways if you like the whole plugin, you could pay or ask pavemen for help to add ratings.

not really, no. it lacks some of the features I'm looking for in a fully functional review system. the closest thing I've seen to an excellent review system is the xthreads mod by rateu, but it needs a few things done to it to make it fully usable as a review system.

I'd love to use the review system linked above if it could be modified to accept a few additional features that I mentioned in my OP.
