Intergrating MarkItUp

I was hoping I could get some help integrating MarkItup in my forum,

I took a look around the code and it seems simple enough, put the markitup code in the headerincludes and swapout a text area but I would like to get some nice clear written code/instructions on how I would go about doing this.

Ive seen that discussion before, It doesn't help me however.

I need to include the markitup files onto my site then change the templates to A) Include markitup and B) take the data from markitup and have it send to the forum itself.
