Are you sure that user is a super administrator? Is he/she listed in /inc/config.php as a super administrator? Also bear in mind that moderators can edit the profile of super administrators, but cannot save the changes (e.g. they can see the edit page but it won't let them continue after that).

The admin is a super-admin and moderators can't edit him but a super moderator can edit a super-admin

Mod CP or Admin CP?

Mod CP, they don't have access to to admin CP.

edit: I have a group (non-admin) richts given to change users in the admin CP and they can edit a super-admin in the mod CP but not on the admin CP

admin can edit super admin in all cps Huh

after setting can edit admin rights NO he cannot edit the super admin.
in 1.2.x noone cant edit a super admin, with or without the right for altering admin rights

Seems to be a bug.

Super moderators are able to edit super admins in the Mod-CP.
Normal admins can be banned by super moderators in the Mod-CP.
Super admins can be banned by normal admins in the Admin-CP.

my moderators can't edit my (super) admin's
only my super moderators can do that
