What is your experience with the RSS to Post plugin?
Good, Bad, or Ugly?
Ever since I installed it, it has been nothing but problems. I have over 6 feeds going and have not received a feed since the 8th and the 9th was the last error message I received. I have confirmed with my host that they are enabled yet they still do not work. I also confirmed the URLs to the feed are correct. Here are a sample of the errors: =========================================== Date: Mon, 09 Feb 2009 06:53:30 +0000 URL: http:/feeds2.feedburner.com/variety/news/frontpage Forum ID: 83 User ID: 1 Strip HTML: 1 There was a problem accessing the URL. Either the server is offline, or your server has allow_url_fopen disabled. Please see: http://ca3.php.net/manual/en/filesystem....-url-fopen and contact your host to resolve this issue. =========================================== Date: Mon, 09 Feb 2009 06:53:30 +0000 URL: http:/rss.cnn.com/rss/edition_asia.rss Forum ID: 80 User ID: 1 Strip HTML: 1 There was a problem accessing the URL. Either the server is offline, or your server has allow_url_fopen disabled. Please see: http://ca3.php.net/manual/en/filesystem....-url-fopen and contact your host to resolve this issue. =========================================== I am considering going another route. If there are alternatives to this plugin, I would appreciate suggestions. Thanks

I did state in my OP that I confirmed with my host that it is enabled - that is what I was referring to. What else could it be? Techno, Do you run feeds on your site using this plugin? How reliable is it? Any problems with it? Thanks

Same problem to me for one RSS feed.
Still try to figure how to fix it. Also, with some RSS, post only the beginning of article, without link. But, generally speaking, a very useful tool. |

RE: What is your experience with the RSS to Post plugin?
I've found that it only works with some feeds. For instance, it works great using a craigslist feed, not alt all using a google news feed, and partially using a yahoo news feed. For some reason the yahoo news feed always makes a bunch of duplicate posts.
