 Newbie opinion so far - I absolutely love it!
Yay it works, it all works! After days of struggling around with phpbb and smf, it's so great to see a forum which has all the logical stuff enabled by default and built-in! It's brilliant!
MyBB is exactly what I hoped phpbb would be - a solid and COMPLETE forum kit! My only tiny issues are the slightly tricky installation (chmodding, having to go into the install directory not just it's normal area, little things like that) and it seems a little trickier to install themes - what do I need to do to the .zip theme to install it? Overall though, MyBB has precisely the right approach to forum construction! The features need to be accessible, set up logically, and user friendly! 5 stars! Maybe in future, it would be nice to see a little more eye-candy in the themes, as I did find SMF to look very ambitious and flexible, but all that stuff is extra - you guys were right to get the core features in first! You have to unzip them. upload the themes folder(most likely in the folder you unzipped if it unzipped as a folder instead of a folder and a file). But, upload the theme folder. Then go to the admin CP and add theme(under themes and templates). Upload the file that came with folder full of images. And, you should be good.
