Smoother Images

I think it would be nice to have Smoother Images in upcoming Version, Because I for one use Dark Backgrounds and the themes I use, Use the MyBB Icons, and its very annoying to see little bits of white around the Icons and Smilies and Post Icons, It would be nice if they were rendered a little better.

What do you think?

Examples;

All of the above are choppy (have white patches around them).

You can download the image back, from the themes site, and there are no whitelines.

No problem, no idea why mybb doesn't use those...

Because we currently use gifs for our images. In MyBB 2.0 we will use pngs.

Because that would be a huge standard change for theme designers and developers. It will also require modifying many of the templates and css. Do you call that minor or do you just not understand the implications of these changes?
