Hide categories from navigation

I'm trying to make a forum as simple-looking as possible and i have therefor hidden the category-bar above each set of boards, among other things. But the categories are still visible on the navigation-line when entering a board or a thread. Does someone know how to remove or make categories invisible on the navigation-line?
