Why not just start something that interests you, something that you can be successfull with and for free, rather than taking on something old for a fee.

I'm looking for an already established community with decent traffic. I don't have any prerequisites which I understand is annoying, but I need to see the forum to decide if I'm interested.

No thank you, the niche is overused and it would be extremely difficult to get the site to take off.

http://www.consoleaddicted.com ? I've been wanting to sell it but haven't had courage to do it yet and not sure if I'll ever do it, I'm curious though to know how much you'd pay for it (you're free to reject giving a price, don't take me wrong). We're getting a new theme pretty soon by the way, I'm tired of this one.

$80 or so dollars. Not much traffic, but good content for sure and a nice domain.

There's no content there, but $10-$15 for the domain depending on expiry date.

Show me traffic stats, I'm interested.

RE: [$1k Budget] Buying Forums
Awstats statistics.
Sub domain forums. on November (Dec, Jan and Feb stats are broken because of server move):
11414 unique visitors
15759 visits

Top domain
4533 unique visitors
6264 visits

This doesn't mean I'm going to sell it. I'm most certainly not going to sell it for anything under $1000.
