^ .htaccess with Deny from all in public_html folder .. AND .htaccess with Allow from all in public_html/install folder ..

I tried to create the file but it won't let me, there is already a file named .htaccess.txt . . . . .

^ here we are referring to .htaccess file (without .txt suffix) . in general, .htaccess is used for rewriting URLs [with google seo plugin]

your forum root folder might be already having a .htaccess file . open it in notepad++ AND add deny from all at the top ..

I didn't use any extension just .htaccess and it still denied me. I'm just gonna wait until you can get to it. I will PM un/pw to you later have to make a mail run thanks ranjani!
