I've mentioned few days ago that my MyBBs are getting quite some spam and it looks like the platform is not yet ready to handle this. Today I find that my installation doesn't have a security question I could ask my potential members, so that i can keep some of the bots away.

So I tried installing this plugin on my forums:

And I get the following error, when trying to enter the plugin area in my admin

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM, expecting T_VARIABLE in /home/x/public_html/inc/plugins/signupquestions.php on line 802

What could cause this?

just to confirm, have you uploaded all 3 files to respective locations for the plugin

OR you can use registration security question plugin (recently updated) for the required purpose
