I just need to forward my domain to my openvz host.
Set up everything and was glad as hell when I finally got to the familiar mybb install.
Now I need some help with bind9, I think, is the best way to go about this??
Going to sleep now. Sleep tight.
DNS is a pain
. That's why I like providers that manage it for you
. Or, look into providers like cloudns.net. Honestly I've never tried setting up a BIND server though either. Every time I've looked at it just didn't look like it was worth my time.
I agree with Alex. Use Cloudflare and call it a day.
http://dns.he.net works great for me, and is run by a large company.
If you want to host your own DNS, don't use bind as it uses around 100mb RAM on a OpenVZ VPS. NSD uses much less ram is easy to set up.

How do you use ServerDragon, then??

Right now a standard VPS will be cheaper to get for the most part even with a backup plan on top of it.
For VPS providers I would recommend the following:
http://serverdragon.com/
http://6sync.com
http://www.linode.com/index.cfm
You don't use openvz??
I just said i like providers that provider and if you looked the other two I listed do provide it...
I also mentioned cloudns.net which is a site for managing your dns through them. So I don't why I would need to set up a BIND server for dns matters when I provided 2 ways of not having to.
