What is causing this error?

SQL Error:
    2002 - Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
Query:
    [READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server 

The last time it occurred when trying to quote a post in the topic, and all the other messages in the same thread could be qoutes, but these do not. Later I tried again and everything was working normally. Forum has been updated to 1.6.4.

This occurs when your MySQL server is down or experiencing an issue and MyBB cannot connect to it. You will have to contact your host with this error message.

It's a host issue. You'll have to contact them.
