some of my users are resenting the facts that the bots appear before them on the "whos online" and are asking me to get rid of the bots. While I know I can't get rid of the bots, but I would like to accomodate them by getting rid of their appearance.

you can remove them appearing online by deleting their entries at admin panel --> spiders / bots
note : this will not prevent them from crawling & indexing your forum !
