since I don't have a current backup of my site after this last hack, I started looking for mods for database backups (instead of just using phpmyadmin).

I found these two:
Database Archive Module http://mods.mybboard.com/view.php?did=235
Database Administration Module http://mods.mybboard.com/view.php?did=236

Any of these work on 1.1.4?

You need to install the MyBB e-mods core modification first, then you can use the Database Archiving Tool to backup your database.
