For some reason after removing the reported threads it still shows the notice

"Moderator Notice: There are 2 unread reported posts."

How can I do so it is not shown anymore?

Rebuild the reportedposts cache in Cache Manager.

Can you or anyone else please explain the process required? I have never modified the Cache Manager and do not want to make a mistake.

Go to the Cache Manager, click rebuild next to reportedposts. Nothing bad can happen in anyway.
