I like how mybb saves the templates and how you can edit them in your ACP, I hope mybb 2.0 no to change this that much.

And I agree with this, I have asked for it before.

In both cases - with a database storage solution and a filesystem storage solution - an online editor would be possible. It makes sense to shift to a filesystem storage solution as to cater to advanced users wanting to edit over FTP/SSH while maintaining the current online editor for general users.

I too support this idea.
