can you please guide me how can i fix this improvement ?
Hi Frostchutz - I only see it on forumdisplay (the datecut thing) - I even see it on MyBB. It only does it on additional pages. It seems to do it when we click the pagination link.
Anyway, another question
Is there a way to utilise the rel=next and rel = prev as recommended in the Google webmaster guidelines?
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.n...lprev.html
Ah, I see. In the forumdisplay, the pages always have datecut= in them.
Still. It's not something to be fixed in / related with Google SEO. You want to change this behaviour in MyBB itself.
I'm really not sure what's going on there anyway, in forumdisplay.php
$datecut = 9999;
if($datecut > 0 && $datecut != 9999)
It's probably missing a few if($datecut != 9999) further down the road. Picking a magic value like 9999 is just silly anyway, PHP can handle unset/empty variables.
In any case, if anything this is a MyBB bug, and off topic in this thread.
I'm not sure about the rel prev/next to be honest. I think it could be counterproductive. From the description it sounds like it would give Google a tendency to always link to the first page - whereas instead it could have pointed you directly to page 107 of this thread where you find a solution to your specific problem... it's hard to tell really. It might make more sense for forum pages rather than thread pages. I think Google should be smart enough to understand ?page=X anyway without such help.
Yeah, that's some weird stuff going on there. Was this introduced as part of 1.8? I seem to remember seeing it discussed in the past.
Thank you for looking into it for me Frostschutz. I see your point re the showthread and next/previous and it would probably be better suited to forumdisplay.
Hi frostschutz ,
How to get the "Forum" Link to the paginated page?
Say, I clicked on a page from second page of threadlist, when I click back on the forum link from the thread, it will take me to the first page of threadlist.
I am using Google SEO 1.6.8 and MyBB 1.6x
@_Jerry_: why do you ask me? It's not related to the plugin at all. MyBB just links to the first forum page.

I get the error "404 Not Found" constantly, when trying to view any user/thread/forum.
I cant work out the problem, I have no errors whatsoever in the plugins page.
