For the next update, please add a recent threads box to the bottom of MyBB. Please make this a setting in which the administrator can choose to display or not to display.

It'll contain a box of 5-7's latest threads posted titled either Recent Discussions or Recent Topics, formatted like: {thread title} posted on {date} at {time} by {username}. A simple box like this containing 5-7 of the forum's latest threads could really do a forum some wonders and help users navigate better and quicker.

Add it.

There are already two plugins for that purpose: Overview and Advanced Stats on Index/Portal

They're not secure enough, and I would like this to be an official feature of MyBB - this could really expand the usability of the Portal setting, too.

If there would be any upgrades to MyBB or updates, obviously the plugin wouldn't be updated or upgraded right away as the forum software would be. So there could still be vulnerabilities.
