The sitemap-index.xml is correct. It's a sitemap index. It contains other sitemaps, which then contain the links to your threads etc.

As for your URLs not working, your webserver is nginx, which might have something to do with it. Did you configure the rewrites with nginx, or did you use .htaccess (which would probably mean that nginx is proxying to an apache backend)?

There is no official support for alternative webservers like lighttpd or nginx at this time, since there's just too many ways they can be set up. Making rewrites work correctly with those webservers is your responsibility.

Sometimes the MyBB wordwrap setting breaks URLs for international scripts, you want to disable it or set it to a value larger than what usually occurs in URLs (e.g. 256).
