Is it possible to change the default "archive mode" to this theme?

I don't think so it is possible.

It is, but it's not a matter of clicking a button or two. You have to edit the markup and the stylesheets manually, which are hardcoded in various files (functions_archive.php for starters).

Why would you want to edit the Archive mode anyway? I'm pretty sure it isn't meant to be visually appealing. It is designed to be a stripped down version of your forum.
