I wish to remove the thread rating stars from the thread display dialogue

If it is removed from the thread display perhaps there is little point on it appearing but both methods of removal would be of some use
You don't need thread ratings at all right? Then that will completely get rid of them, from both the thread and forum display.

Yes hence the viz remark to the graphic I wish to remove ... after running the query the graphic remains so I guess I need to rephrase my english

The image is still displayed any previous ratings saved to the database would be immaterial if the image is removed, I just need to remove the image. From your previous post, it is suggested, that setting the rating to zero via the query supplied would remove the image but it does not.

It's the allowratings setting in the Admin CP that is set to 0, not the ratings themselves. Running that query will disable thread ratings on all forums. If it didn't work, then you must have done something wrong.
