U R in the wrong section, this issue has nothing to do with MyBB 1.6 but with the themes

Try asking support from the theme author.

The problem is the Javascript is not being included in the header. Can you post your headerinclude template? (Block & Blue Templates > Ungrouped Templates > headerinclude).
