Hi, I have loaded a new install of mybb 1.6, and decided to chexk the version thru admin panel...i get a error saying problem communicating with version server, i also get a error when trying to check for mods/plugins ...problem communicating with modification version server Huh

It's either just a temporary issue, or your web host doesn't allow fetching of remote files.

If the latter, you will need to contact your web host. There's nothing we can do.
