Hi Guys
i setup a new foroum for an existing community coming from PHPBB.. and like PHPBB and other boards there's this very useful SHOW RECENT POSTS link w/c is one of the most used display options.. kinda sad that we @ mybb didnt follow this "standard".. but instead we have our VIEW NEW POSTS link w/c is similar to that of the SHOW RECENT POSTS but it times out too soon..
I have users clicking view new posts , finding 5 new posts.. so naturally they go on and click 1 of the posts and read that.. and reply to that watever.. but then when they take too long on that post hitting the VIEW NEW POSTS link again will return ZERO results.. myBB assumes that you have read all new posts after an "X" period of time from CHECKING the view new posts .. w/c kinda sucks.. if there's a way to extend the time out time for this that would be great.
also, i know of the VIEW TODAY's POSTS feature, but that's just different, it's for posts in w/in 24 hours only. where recent can mean posts beyond that time frame.
Please advise..
TJ
anyone?
