There is alot of people registering on my forum and posting advertisements throughout my forum. Is there any way to stop this? Forums.JustCraft.ca I think there part of some organization spamming forums like mine with advertisements.

Javascript bot detection plugin works quite well, combining it with StopForumSpam could in turn provide better security.

This is also a good plugin to have.

which is better stopforumspam or recaptcha?

They're not even related. So you can't really compare them or say which is better. I would install both if I were you.
