Go to ACP > Templates & Style > Templates > Find Updated Templates. This will show all the templates that need to be reverted to default. You can view a diff report on templates here to see what changes you've made to them, make a note of them, revert the template to default, and make your changes again. If they're not reverted to default, things won't work, much like the polls breaking. If the PHP code has changed and is expecting one thing in the templates but yours contain something else, it won't work.
