For private boards with only a few users and no need of email it could be useful to entirely disable any emailing from the forum software in one setting. As it is, my private forum, which just a handful of users (family and friends created directly by myself), every now and then shows several failed mail delivery attempts when I execute the mail command. It isn't a fatal problem but just an annoyance and I have no interest in setting up a mail server or using an external SMTP server.
