They're not really needed there. What's there to rate? Nothing really. I see time and time again people rating their own threads 5 * to gain the interest of other members. Either that, or people rating threads 1 * because the user is new and cannot figure something out.

I do not really see the point of thread ratings at all, maybe only in showcase, theme/plugin releases, etc. forums is enough?
I agree with Malcolm. There is no need of ratings in Testing forum either.
Could be arranged.
Though they need to stay in the testing forum for, well, testing.

I think they should be disabled in all the support forums (General Support, Plugin Support, Theme Support, Merge Support, etc..)
There's nothing to rate there. This feature is best for the Showcase, R/J/S, Suggestions, and so on.

True, IMHO many guys rate newbie's thread one star and vice verse.
I don't always rate threads, but when I do, I make sure they're my own and give them 5 stars.
I agree, ratings are completely subjective and should not be enabled for the aforementioned forums.
I assume there is an internal discussion going on regarding this?
