Just a few minutes ago, my plugins page on my ACP crashed and showed this message:

$forumdir is invalid!

How do I fix this? Thanks

This is in ./portal.php

die("\$forumdir is invalid!");

Have you changed the value of $forumdir on line 17 of ./portal.php?? Because either you've changed that, a plugin also uses this variable and it's set incorrectly, or a plugin is for some reason including portal.php or something.

I found the code, and no, none of my recently downloaded plugins contain a portal.php. I have also never edited the portal.php.

What exactly do I do with the 
die("\$forumdir is invalid!");

Line 17 appears to be correct - I have 3 installations running with it, one in the root and 2 in subdirectories. So the problem would appear to come from somewhere else. According to the code

you get that error if $forumdir is not a directory (if it's a file - which it can't be in this case - '.' is a directory). That line (die("\$forumdir is invalid!")) may appear somewhere else in the core, though - I haven't looked at the entire code package.

For debugging - since you're just changing from the current directory to the current directory - IOW, not doing anything - you could comment out that entire block and see if you get any further. (You'll probably get another error further down.)

Oh - make sure that the directories are "./", not " ./" or some other illegal thing.

I can't find the problem anywhere. That's the only area where forumdir is.

It must be in one of your plugins then as they shouldn't be including portal.php, portal.php shouldn't be running in the plugins list.
