My recommendation, use only two plugins;
Spamylyser and GoodBye Spammer.

cool thanks guys, my webhost has been emailing me daily because all my forums are getting spammed to death. I even get emails from big cooporations telling me to remove spam posts that don't respect their copyrights etc LOL
