are u uploading the xml file? i used to try to upload whole theme zip and it didnt work then i realised it needed the xml file only and the files to copy to ftp

Upload the images pack of your theme inside the images directory of mybb.

1. extract the zip file
2. find the xml file
3. use mybb import theme to upload just the XML file
4. copy all other folders via ftp (unless localhost) to the correct locations
5. select the theme in mybb
