I am new to this type of forum software. I have read and read a lot of the help posts concerning this question, but I haven't found it yet.
It is probably there, but I can't find it.

I want to change the My BB to a different name. Could someone please direct me to the tutorial or post that covers this.

assuming that you are referring to MyBB at the navigation breadcrumb & on page title

admin panel --> configuration --> settings --> General Configuration -->
Board Name <-- change entry to required word / phrase ; & save settings
