Is it possible to make it that Guests can see the forums but can't actually read the posts they must be a member?

Its just simple permissions...
Forum Management -> Manage Forums -> XXX forum -> Permissions -> Untick all options for Unregistered / Not Logged In
You'd have to do that for all forums though.
But if you did that, guests wouldn't be able to see the forums at all, right?
Yeah, you'd have to leave the "View" option selected.

If you set the "Hide Private Forums?" in the "Forum Home Options" group to "No," The forums will be shown.
That is good to know, but I think it would be better to just click the "view" for guests, as DrPoodle suggested. This way, you can pick and choose which forums you want guests to see. Dennis' suggestion would enable guests to see ALL the forums, even ones you might not want anyone to know that they even exist! LOL
Well yeah at the moment they're all-or-nothing settings unfortunately.
