Hi,

After a lot of searches about how to moderate all new posts/threads from an entire user group I've came across following post;
----------------------------------------------------
"Edit the registered users group and set their permissions to require all posts moderated.

Create a second group with the default permissions, same as registered was before.

Add a group promotion to promote people from registered to the new group when they reach 5 posts."
----------------------------------------------------

But in my mybb installation ( Ver. 1.6.3 ) I cannot see such option to require all posts moderated.

Any ideas ?

First of all, upgrade to MyBB 1.6.4.


What exactly do you want? You you want the first post of a user and only their first post to be moderated?

If there's a way to moderate all new threads/posts from an entire group that would be good.

But approval require for a user's first 5 posts etc.. is also ok.

however that plugin may not be available at present !

AND in forum management, each forum has moderation settings

|___ Yes, moderate new attachments
|___ Yes, moderate posts after they've been edited

He wants a certain usergroup, not forum.

Yes, I guess http://mods.mybb.com/view/required-approvals should work too.

This method is good. Do I have to set this for every forum. Or if I set this for a category will it apply for child forums too ?

Yeah, usergroup method is the preferable one. But if it is hard to achieve then others options are ok too....

P.S. There isn't any info about http://mods.mybb.com/view/required-approvals mod.
eg: compatibility etc ...
Will it work with 1.6.3, 1.6.4 ..?

see updating plug-ins to 1.6.x tutorial

not sure that category moderation settings automatically apply to the forums
however it should be possible to copy forum settings by using copy forum tab at forum management

I've installed the plugin. Its working well I think. I registered as a new user & every threads & posts I made are went to moderation queue.

Still, I don't know why this option is not in default mybb installation as mentioned on ;
