I have fallen off to the 3rd page now and really need some advice on this.

Still have the same issue. Virtually no one can login to my site with IE but have no problem with Firefox. I need IE because everyone uses IE at this moment in time.

If find it especially odd since I am using the same laptop as I have used on the other 2 forums I setup and admin on, yet nothing works when I try to logon to my site. The only thing that is different is the other 2 are 1.6.3 and this is 1.6.4

If this is all the situation requires would it be possible to get 1.6.3 from someone here on the forum?

Thanks, Mike
Your forum URL where forum is setup?

And may I know what are your settings for cookiedomain and cookie path?
Sorry, I should have included those.

Here are the 2 forums I setup back in June or July that run pretty flawless
http://bransonmo65616.com/forum/index.php
http://www.tablerocksound.com/forum/

and here is the forum that is crashing like a madhouse dummy no matter what.

Right now my cookies are set to "accept all cookies"

Still doesn't matter, just kicks me out after it says I have successfully logged in.
No by cookie settings I mean, the following two settings located in ACP > Configuration > Settings > General Settings

From those settings, write down the values of following two settings:

1. Cookie Domain:
2. Cookie Path:

and reply back.
Oh this gets better and better....

So now, I can login (with Firefox) to my ACP. I can see the tabs for ADMIN CP from my forum, can get into the ACP and from there, everything that I click on brings me back into the sign on screen. Even in FF.

Anyone interested in taking a stab at a really difficult problem?
Disregard.

Have uninstalled and went back to square 1.
Hi, okay, my doubt was correct, you've your cookie settings set incorrect.

As you cannot login your ACP, you've to do it via inc/settings.php file from FTP.

Refer to below sticky which gives complete instructions on how to troubleshoot this problem:

Even after reading that, you're stuck, feel free to ask and I'd help you in detail.
