Is there a way to make it so that guests can post but moderators have to approve all new posts made by them?
Just set it in permissions in the Guest's usergroup.
I'm not seeing any option for setting that in the admin area under the Guests usergroup under Users and Permissions. I am using the most recent version of MyBB>
The setting is in Forum's Permissions actually.
Go to: ACP > Forums and Posts > Edit Forum > Under "Moderator Options" > Tick "Yes, moderate new posts" option. However it will moderate all new posts regardless of usergroup.
Oh ok, so there is no way to actually do it on a per-usergroup basis?
I had seen that but it looks like that plugin was made back in 2008
Try to change
'compatibility' => '14*',
to
'compatibility' => '16*',
