you are better off just downloading the latest MyBB package and uploading the files via FTP. There is no setup or upgrade required as long as you have stock code and not modified any core files.

did that and it was fixed thanks

i would suggest that you look at config.php to see if it is changed and then delete settings.php and let MyBB rebuild it.
