Full Version: Did Not Change Config File Name

Hi, I goofed up right off the bat. When I installed I overlooked that I was supposed to change the file inc/config.default.php to config.php. All went well with the install and was able to log in and all but am wondering now will I have trouble with the script. I tried to change the file name(a little to late)and get a message saying I don't have permission to do this. Do I really need to do this all over again? The file had 0 bytes in it after running the install. I'm going to bed with no supper over this but can I have breakfast or did I really break something? Also, I originally had the config.default.php chmod'd at 666 but by itself it has returned to 644. Sad
Make a local copy of config.default.php (extract it from the zip) and rename it to config.php. Delete the one on the site (you may have to chmod it to 777 first). Then upload the local one to the site.

Thanks Rukbat
Not sure about something on my end. When I looked this morning via ftp at the files a config.php file appeared instead of the config.default.php. Not going into that one.
At any rate the file reads as follows(the ? marks aren't really in the file but placed there for posting purposes) Just want to make sure it has the info it is supposed to:

Where those ? marks are is where you should put your database name, hostname, database username and database password.

The information was already in there. I just replaced the info with the ? marks for posting purposes.
Thanx and have a great day.
